Detection of Serum Antibodies and Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells Response to Escherichia coli Antigens in Humans

HIGHLIGHTS IgG and IgA from normal human serum can recognize E. coli antigens and LPS. The PBMC proliferation assay was induced by E. coli antigens and by LPS. Mucosal antigens may induce local and systemic responses.
