Enthalpy of formation of CaCl2·2CH3OH and CaCl2·2C2H5OH by solution calorimetry

1982
Abstract Recent thermochemical research on materials suitable for storage of energy has focused on salt hydrates and ammoniates and only limited results exist for the alcoholates of interest in this work. The enthalpies of formation of CaCl 2 ·2CH 3 OH and CaCl 2 ·2C 2 H 5 OH have been determined by solution calorimetry. The values found for ΔH f o (298.15 K) are −(1310±2) and −(1392±2) kJ · mol −1 , respectively.
