Release kinetics of aciclovir resinate in vitro

Objective: To prepare the aciclovir resinates and investigate the release kinetics of the drug-resinate in vitro.Methods: The drug-resinates were made by a bath method.The drug release kinetics was also investigated in different releasing mediums.Results: The release rate increased with increasing ionic strength in the release mediums and the rise in temperature.The release rate changed with the counter-ion type.Conclusion: The release rate of the drug-resinates is correlated with ionic strength in the release mediums,the type of counter-ion and temperature.
