Discussion on Grid GIS and Its Application in Digital Oil Fields

Digital Oil Field is thought to be the best way to solve the problems in intelligent management of oil field. This paper centers on Grid GIS and its application on Digital Oil Fields. Based on analyzing the common problems and the development of Digital Oil Fields, the running frame of Grid GIS in Digital Oil Fields is presented. This paper points out that the distributed middleware architecture which is based on GridGML and Web Service technique is a good method to solve the problems in Digital Oil Fields, and discusses the implementation processes.
