Method for preparing submicron-scale single-layer polystyrene colloidal particle crystals

2013
The invention discloses a novel method for preparing submicron-scale single-layer polystyrene colloidal particle crystals. The method comprises the following steps of firstly sequentially adding ethanol, water and submicron-scale polystyrene microspheres into a beaker to prepare submicron-scale polystyrene microsphere suspension liquid; placing the beaker into an ultrasonic washer, and enabling the submicron-scale polystyrene microspheres in the suspension liquid to be uniformly dispersed; and finally placing the beaker into a constant-temperature drying oven to be dried and heated, and generating the submicron-scale single-layer polystyrene colloidal particle crystals on the gas-liquid interface of the suspension liquid in the beaker. By adopting the method, the assembling of the single-layer polystyrene colloidal particle crystals can be precisely controlled by adjusting the ratio of ethanol and water, the single-layer polystyrene colloidal particle crystals in large area can be rapidly assembled, simplicity, rapidness and high efficiency can be realized, the requirement on the equipment is low, and the assembling of the crystals can be completed by conventional laboratory equipment.
