Comparison of Non-Survey Input-Output Estimates using Alternative Reduction Techniques

This paper presents a theoretical and empirical comparison of location quotient and supply-demand pool techniques for regionalizing national input-output systems. The 1972 national model was used in this study because it was the most recent available. The major conceptual difference in the 1972 version as compared to earlier versions is that the 1972 model is a commodity to industry output transformation rather than the traditional industry to industry transformation.
