An apparatus for removing scale from the surface of a steel strip and collection means for the removal of scale from the strip surface

The invention relates to a device for detaching scale from the surface of a metal strip (B) comprising a device (5) for mechanically loosening the scale and a collecting device (20, 21) for removing the scale from the strip surface (Bo, Bu). The inventive device can be economically produced and can be easily adapted to the volume relationships in the area of the device provided for loosening the scale. To this end, the invention provides that the collecting device (20, 21) is arranged in the immediate proximity of the surface (Bo, Bu) of the strip (B) and is immediately adjacent to the device (5) provided for loosening the scale.
