CHEMISTRY AND METALLURGY OF YTTRIUM

The development of the technology of yttrium is discussed. Recent data are given on the procurement and separation of yttrium oxide, and the preparation of the metal. Known physical, mechanical, nuclear, chemical, and metallurgical properties of yttrium and some of its compounds and alloys are presented. Present fabrication techniques for forming yttrium metal are described. (auth)
