High-spin yrast cascade in /sup 60/Ni

The role played by the /sup 1/g/sub 9/2/ orbital vis-a-vis the structure of the recently observed high-spin yrast cascade in /sup 60/Ni is examined. The anomalous high-spin sequence is correctly reproduced. A number of electromagnetic transitions are predicted.
