DC Breakdown Strength of ZnO/GFRP at Room Temperature and Cryogenic Temperature

GFRP is widely used in superconducting system. Epoxy resin dopped nanoparticles has a great effect on improving the electrical performance. In this paper, the DC breakdown strength of ZnO/GFRP(0, 1, 3 and 5wt%) was investigated at the room temperature and cryogenic temperature. The ZnO particles were surface modified with the silane coupling agent (KH560), in order to obtain the uniform dispersed composites. The ZnO/GFRP composites were tested in vacuum at 300K and 77K and Weibull distribution was obtained. The results showed that the DC breakdown strength rose with the increase of ZnO content and the low temperature improved breakdown strength.
