Leven Bridge Tower, UK

1998
The alignment for the Western Bridge Road involved crossing a popular river valley park in the new town of Glenrothes, Scotland. The developers were aware of the sensitive nature of the site, but instead of building an unobtrusive structure, they opted for a landmark structure with sculptural ambitions. The approach to the design was a positive one - to successfully integrate the new bridge into the park in a way that enhanced and enlivened an area of natural beauty. The chosen solution was a medium span cable-stayed structure.
