Magnetic properties of alumite films with fixed pore system parameters containing electro-deposited Co

Abstract The magnetic properties and structure of magnetic alumite films with micropores filled with Co have been studied using vibrating sample magnetometer and XRD methods. Variation of the magnetic characteristics for the films with fixed pore system parameters was achieved by changing the Co electro-deposition conditions. The coercive force measured normal to the film plane can be regulated between 1000 and 1500–1800 Oe by varying the solution temperature in the range from 0 to 55°C at pH 5. It was found that this fact was caused by reorientations of the hcp-Co c -axis relative to the film plane.
