GEOMETRY ANALYSIS FOR MINIMUM VISIBILITY LEVEL AND SIGHT DISTANCE ON THE ROAD AT NIGHT-TIME AND RAINY CONDITION

2016
Road geometry analysis for the value of visibility level and sight distance any conditions of rain and night in accident-prone areas as the evaluation and identification of road safety. Visibility Level is the farthest distance that can still be captured by the normal eye. Determining the visibility level (Lgs) in accident-prone areas taking into account the actual view of the driver (Lns) and take the factor of vehicle performance (αc), physical condition (αc) and pavement condition (αp). There are 2 (two) concepts to the sight distance, including Stop Sight Distance (SSD) and Precede Sight Distance (PSD). It was reckoned in accident-prone areas by linking the speed (v), the traffic capacity (q), the slope area (L), pavement friction (f), acceleration (a) and reaction time (t). The value varied during day-time, rainy and at night. Analysis of Minimum Visibility Level (VL), Minimum SSD, Minimum PSD be correlated with EAN value.
