A test of parity conservation in the reaction 27Al(p, α)24Mg
1989
Abstract As a test of parity conservation in compound nucleus reactions in the regime of Ericson fluctuations we use the reaction 27 Al( p , α 0.1 ) 24 Mg at ϑ lab =167.2°. The parity-violating asymmetry was determined at six bombarding energies between 10 and 12 MeV. An upper limit of 7×10 −4 at a confidence level of 80% for the average parity-violating reaction amplitude is derived.
