Electrocatalytic hydrogenation of dimethyl-and methylethyl(phenylethynyl) carbinols

Selective reduction of dimethyl-and methylethyl(phenylethynyl) carbinols in electrocatalytical system at a cathode activated with skeletal catalysts (Ni, Cu, Zn) is studied. The effects of the catalysts’ chemical nature, temperature regime, nature and amount of organic solvent on the hydrogenation rate and yield are investigated.
