SUMMARY. Muscle trophism, as well as function and tone, is related to an adequate innervation. In this paper we describe a new surgical technique to recover the innervation of a muscle totally denervated for destruction of its nerve or the neural portion. We performed this technique in wistar rat, by means of nerve graft sutured between a health donor nerve and the studied muscle. We harvested very interesting results (evaluated with morphological and histological observations) that would encourage continuation in this research to improve the technical aspects of the method used and to evaluate its eventually clinical applications and contraindications.
