An improved method for the determination of the neutron fluence in fission power reactors based on the 93Nb(n,n′)93mNb reaction

1988
Abstract The X-ray fluorescence method was introduced to measure the weight of an Nb monitor used for the neutron fluence measurement via the 93 Nb(n,n′) 93m Nb reaction in a fission reactor. Results were compared with those obtained by γ-spectrometry based on the 93 Nb(n,γ) 94 Nb reaction. For comparison, the specific activities of 93m Nb measured in two different laboratories are also given.
