A CAATINGA EM UMA NOVA LINGUAGEM: A ETNOBOTÂNICA PARA INCLUSÃO SOCIAL

Resumo A ausencia de sinais na Lingua Brasileira de Sinais (LIBRAS) que simbolizem conceitos ou termos cientificos e um desafio para o processo de ensino em ambientes educativos heterogeneos. Desta forma, objetivamos desenvolver sinais que codifiquem especies vegetais da Caatinga e sem registros na LIBRAS. Para isso, o conhecimento etnobotânico de estudantes surdos foi obtido atraves de entrevistas semiestruturadas a fim de identificar se havia sinais que representassem as plantas da Caatinga. Foram entrevistados estudantes, de uma escola para surdos, que apontaram a ausencia de sinais para 40 especies, utilizadas para diversos fins. Uma comissao foi reunida para criacao dos sinais para cada especie citada, com base em seus atributos morfologicos e fins utilitarios. Portanto, a criacao dos sinais em LIBRAS tende a viabilizar a aprendizagem e tornar disponivel os conhecimentos relacionados as especies vegetais da Caatinga contribuindo para o processo de ensino de forma inclusiva. Palavras-chave: Etnobotânica; material didatico; LIBRAS; inclusao Abstract:  The absence of signs in the Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) that symbolize scientific concepts or terms is a challenge for the teaching process in heterogeneous educational environments. Thus, we aim to develop signals that encode plant species from the Caatinga and without records in LIBRAS. For this, the ethnobotanical knowledge of deaf students was obtained through semi-structured interviews in order to identify if there were signs that represented the plants of the Caatinga. Students from a school for the deaf were interviewed, who pointed out the absence of signs for 40 species, used for various purposes. A commission was assembled to create the signals for each species mentioned, based on their morphological attributes and utilitarian purposes. Therefore, the creation of signs in LIBRAS tends to enable learning and make available knowledge related to the Caatinga plant species, contributing to the teaching process in an inclusive way.
