Feasibility of flywheel batteries for electric powered wheelchairs

Electric powered wheelchairs typically use chemical batteries as their energy source. While this provides effective mobility, the mass of lead-acid batteries is such that it makes the electric powered wheelchair bulky and difficult to transport. Alternative energy sources may lead to lighter and more flexible electric powered wheelchair designs.
