Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome: With a Hypoplastic Kidney, Bladder Diverticulum, and Diaphragmatic Hernia

1967
A 22-year-old Negro with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome had multiple visceral anomalies, including a hypoplastic kidney, a diverticulum of the bladder, and diaphragmatic hernia. The bladder diverticulum was thought to be a secondary manifestation of the syndrome resulting from laxity in the supporting connective tissues, rather than an associated congenital anomaly in the conventional sense. It is thought that the incidence of internal manifestations of the syndrome is probably much higher than has been reported.
