Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants

The Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants was entered into force on 17 May 2004, with Australia ratifying the Convention on 20 May, 2004 and becoming a Party on 18 August 2004. The objective of the convention is to protect human health and the environment from persistent organic pollutants (POPs).
