Electronic Turbo Timer Design for Automobile
2007
Nowadays, many cars are installed superchargers in order to produce more power. And turbochargers are relatively compact, lightweight and efficient but suffer from heat stress, Especially, the engine is shut off immediately after driving a period time, which will burn the lubricating oil under at high speed rotating and make the charger wear without oil lubrication. So it is important to let the engine run at idle speed for a few minutes after it is switch off, allowing the compressor assembly to run down in speed and cool the excess heat. A turbo timer is an electronic device designed to keep an automotive engine running for a pre-setting period of time in order to automatically execute the cool-down period required to prevent turbo wear. And this turbo timer can be set by manual from I minute to 9 minutes to delay shut off the engine. Furthermore, this device also can get speed signals and fuel injection signals from ECU and display instantaneous fuel efficiency (㎞/l) on LED directing drivers to gain lower fuel consumption and relative high engine performance.
