Analysis of the heat state of pneumatic tires by the finite element method

2009
A method for the calculation of the self-heating temperature in the material body of pneumatic tires during rolling motion by the finite element method is developed. The calculation is performed from the results of the calculation of the stressed-strained state of the tire by the finite element method in a tree-dimensional formulation. Problems of stationary and nonstationary heat conduction for different types of pneumatic tires are solved for the purpose of the estimation of the maximum allowable rate of motion. The calculation results are correlated with the experimental data.
