The catalyst comprises a carrier and an active component, wherein the active component is palladium; the percentage by mass of palladium is equal to 0.2%-1.0% of the dry weight of the catalyst. The catalyst is characterized in that the carrier is activated carbon which is subjected to microwave processing and ultrasonic wave processing. According to the technical scheme, the technical problem is well solved. The catalyst can be applied to the hydrofining production of the crude terephthalic acid.
