Magnetic properties of UPtSi2

Abstract We have found a new uranium intermetallic compound UPtSi 2 to show ferromagnetic ordering at 86 K. The magnetization has a strong field dependence and reaches a value of 2.6μ B /U at 80 kOe. We present also the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility and the electrical resistivity.
