A Complete Study of the ν3 Band and Associated Hot Bands of CICN

Abstract The infrared spectra of the ν 3 band of ClCN have been measured with a resolution of 0.0026 cm −1 using a Fourier transform spectrometer. Eight bands of 35 Cl 12 CN, five bands of 37 Cl 12 CN, and one band of 35 Cl 13 CN have been analyzed to obtain accurate bands origins and rotational constants. The accuracy of the calculated band origins is better than 0.0005 cm −1 . A first determination of quartic and sextic vibrational constants is proposed.
