Professionalization and Deprofessionalization: Consubstantial Links

A better understanding of “deprofessionalization” is sought by using three examples from different professional fields, in particular to show that the paired professionalization/deprofessionalization is sometimes inseparable: what some call a professionalization project is experienced by “recipients” of the device as a source of deprofessionalization.
