Predicting product life expectancy of the LabTecta bearing protector

This article examines the statistical life expectancy of the LabTecta bearing protector – a non-contacting labyrinth bearing seal – supplied by Aesseal Plc over a seven-year period. The objective of this analysis is to statistically determine the life expectancy, hence product reliability, of this bearing protector based on field service performance data. To that effect, the co-authors used widely accepted probability techniques.
