The occurrence of tetraspores in the life history of Naccaria wiggii (Turn.) Endl

1970
Cultures derived from carpospores of Naccaria wiggii (Turn.) Endl. have been grown in the laboratory and on sub-littoral frames in the sea. Early development was similar in each case but later the plants growing under natural conditions produced terminal structures closely resembling tetrasporangia. These gave rise to rounded cells which behaved as spores.
