The article discusses the Harm Reduction strategy and its relationship to the worker’s field of work. Following a historical line, the different aspects of this meeting are analyzed, from the formation of the reducer to the emotional involvement with users. Treating the issue of rights as a priority for approaching and empowering those affected by Arm Reduction actions. It also raises fundamental questions about the demands of users in public health facilities, going to the point of placing total abstinence as a fundamental issue for the frequency in those spaces. Finally, to conclude that, after a period of enthusiasm and support, these actions are currently weakened and intimidated, almost without government support, and that they only exist thanks to civil society actions, with fine tuning with users and their social environments.
