STUDY OF COMPLICATIONS OF COLLES FRACTURE

2019
The Colles’ fracture is the fracture towards the lower end of the radius, about 1 inch, towards of the radius, articular surface which may or may not be caused by a fracturing of the ulna styloid process. The study is conducted over 24 months from October 2010 to October 2012 at the KIMS, Karad, in more than 100 cases of fracture of closed coats attending orthopedic OPD. In this study we studied true incidence of Extensor Pollicis Longus (EPL) tendon rupture and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) in the Indian population. This study concluded that is particularly necessary to correct the posterior displacement and angulation while there is the fracture, so that there can be a complete range of motion in volar flexion. This is always important but stabilization can be performed directly from the wrist or with limited versatility in most situations. The wrist will be located approximately as a straight line that correlates to the reduction maintenance.
