Agricultural landscape dynamics: a case study in the Odessa region, the Ukraine and a comparative analysis with the Brionne Basin case study, France
1997
Land cover and landscape structure changes over the last 26 years are analyzed for a 33 km2 sovkhoz in the south of the Ukraine. Multivariate methods are used to study the main features modelling the landscape. Changes in dynamic patterns reveal a growing duality between intensively occupied and abandoned lands. These transformations are compared with the structurally similar site of Brionne (France) in view of assessing the part played by the different driving factors involved.
