Explosive chemical reactions of metals with oxides or salts in solids

1987
The authors discuss the various parameters involved in the compression of metal-metal oxide-metal sulfate powder systems and the shear deformation behavior and resulting explosion regime and combustion kinetics after critical pressure is reached and detonation and flame propagation occur. The systems specifically reviewed include aluminum, magnesium, and iron, their oxides, and the sulfates of copper and sodium.
