Protocolo de gestión de casos de covid-19 en atención primaria

2020
On 31 December 2019, 27 cases of pneumonia of unknown etiology were reported in Wuhan (Hubei Province, China) after a common exposure in a wholesale market for seafood, fish and live animals. On 30 January 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak as the 6th Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) and on 11 March 2020, declared it a pandemic. The causative agent of this pneumonia has been identified as a new virus in the Coronaviridae family called SARS-CoV-2. The aim of this article is to provide clinical practice guidelines for general practitioners (GP) by updating clinical criteria, diagnostic tools, surveillance and epidemiological monitoring of SARS-COV-2. In summary, primary care (PC) has become the priority care level for the proper management of COVID 19 with early detection of cases, avoiding their transmission and, if this occurs, identifying contacts through a strategy of epidemiological surveillance specified in algorithms of proceedings.
