Analysis on Rubbing Fault During the Starting Process of Turbo-generator Units

Due to the unstable operating parameters and states during the starting process of turbo-generator units,the excessive vibration of bearings and bushes often occur.The rubbing and the decrease of the support stiffness are the common fault reasons.By studying the excessive vibration of bearings and bushes occurred during the starting process in the No.2 turbo-generator units in a power plant after the overhaul,analyzing the vibration data in the starting process,and making reference to the existing similar cases,this paper determines the fault reasons for the rubbing and analyzes the resonance caused by the decrease of the support stiffness in the bearing housing.
