Peningkatan Kemampuan Kader Kesehatan Dalam Melakukan Deteksi Tumbuh Kembang Balita Melalui Pelatihan (The Increaseness of Health Cadre Ability in Implementing Early Detection of Children Under Five Years Growth and Development Trough Training

ABSTRACT Monitoring and detecting of growth and development are part of the duties of health cadre in their working areas. Therefore, it is expected the understanding and skills of each cadre in growth stimulation techniques for toddlers in Working Area of Jatinegara Public Health Centre. Training is one way to improve knowledge, skills and attitudes of cadres. Therefore, researchers wanted to know the extent of cadres can detect growth and development of young children. This study used a quasi experimental design with pretest and posttest control group design. The populations were a whole cadre of health in the Working Area of Jatinegara Public Health. The research sample was selected from population as purposive. The selected sample has divided into groups that received treatment and control groups. Statistical test used was chi-square, independent sample t-test, and paired t-test. Analyzing the data used statistical tests for normality Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk. The result showed that the health cadres who have received training to increase their knowledge and skills were significant. The increase of cadres' skills was associated with raising knowledge of health cadres on implementing of early detection of toddlers ' growth and development.
