Enhancing FLIR Image by the Contourlet Transform

In this paper, an efficient contrast enhancement algorithm based on the contourlet transform (CT) increase the intensity of dim moving targets in infrared images is presented. The change detection method (CDM) is used in CT domain for detecting the dim moving small targets. After applying the averaging operation between the reconstruction image (RI) of CT and the histogram equalization image (HEI), the enhanced image can be obtained.
