A general synthesis of bis(n6−[2n]cyclophane)ruthenium(II) compounds

Abstract Hydride reduction of (n 6 -arene)(n 6 −[2 n ]cyclophane)ruthenium(II) compounds, followed by treatment with acid, gives (n 6 −[2 n ]cyclophane)ruthenium(II) solvates and thus provides a general synthesis for bis(n 6 −[2 n ]cyclophane)ruthenium(II) compounds.
