Vibration Measurement Using a Novel Fibre-Optic Electronically-Scanned White-Light Interferometer

1997
Optical interferometry is a widely used technique for the measurement of vibrations of a range of industrial components.1,2 It has a wide dynamic range and a high sensitivity. 2,3 However, these configurations discussed in the literature often require the use of complex frequency shifting modulators3, polarization control4 and transmission gratings2 to be used in order to resolve directional information when used as a vibration sensor.
