El crecimiento económico en América Latina y sus perspectivas mas allá del sexenio perdido

2009
The volatility that has characterized the regional and international arenas over the past 15 years makes it difficult to forecast Latin America's growth rate in the medium term. The absence of a universally accepted model to explain economic growth complicates this task even more. This study analyzes several focuses and methodologies to measure empirically the basic trends in regional growth, identify sub-regional particularities and extrapolate the potential for economic growth. The impact of structural reforms stands out in the total productivity of factors and potential growth, in their effect of pulling up foreign trade and in the sustainability of strategies for an economic aperture.
