The present invention discloses a flat plate opening waveguide array antenna amplitude and phase distribution characteristic measurement device and a method thereof. The device comprises an antenna analyzer, an antenna to be measured, a straight waveguide coaxial adapter, a rectangular waveguide coaxial adapter, a square moment conversion and a round moment conversion. Two ports of the antenna analyzer are connected through test cables respectively, the end parts of the test cable are respectively connected to the straight waveguide coaxial adapter and the rectangular waveguide coaxial adapter and are connected to the test tool round moment conversion and square moment conversion, and the rapid matching insertion is achieved through the input total port of the antenna to be measured and a waveguide unit port. According to the device and the method, the rapid measurement can be realized through using a vector network and a corresponding test tool, a TRL calibration mode is used to effectively reduce the influence on a test result by the test tool, the cable and the adapters, test steps are simple and convenient with high precision, the antenna performance can be rapidly analyzed, the failed unit in a position array is rapidly positioned, and great convenience is brought to the improvement and repair and the antenna.
