Cycloaddition of Alkyl Azides to Fullerene C60in the Presence of Cu(OTf)2.

A highly selective method for the cycloaddition of linear and cyclic azides to fullerene C60 promoted by copper triflate is presented, which provides a fairly simple and effective access to the new practically important N-(cyclo)alkylaziridinofullerenes with various substituents including those based on natural compounds.
