Decomposition of metal hydrides in low temperatures and in high-temperature oxidation

Abstract The thermal decomposition in helium and high-temperature oxidation in air of TiH 2 , ZrH 2 , TiC x H y and ZrNiH 3 , Zr 2 NiH 5 , ZrCoH 3 , Zr 2 CoH 5 were studied. Hydrogen diffusion, phase transitions, etc. on the particles′ surfaces due to oxidation were established to affect the decomposition and oxidation kinetics.
