Study of wild watermelon on pest-resistance of Diaphania indica.

The watermelon resistance to the Diaphania indica was studied and watermelon leaves victims rate,insect quantity in different growth period,population density and the number of infested plant were analyzed.The result showed that there were different resistances on Diaphania indica among the different varieties.Varieties of 07stw1-1 had the strongest resistance,while Heigongzi and Fengleyihaohad a poor insect resistance to Diaphania indica.The results indicated that there were highly significant correlations among the resistant indexes.Based on these,they could be used as breeding materials to produce commercial hybrid in future.
