MSX1 Gene and Nonsyndromic Cleft of Lip and Palate

2006
Nonsyndmmic cleft lip and/or palate(NSCLP)is one of several complex human birth defect traits that are thought to be caused by a combination of genes and environmental interactions.A variety of genetic and epidemiologic approaches have been used to identify etiology with candidate genes. This review is intended to summarize the studies of the polymorphisms of MSX1 gene and its correvation with NSCLP,which offers an im- portant clue to etiology study of this disease.
