Electron-spin-echo envelope modulation with improved modulation depth

Abstract A five-pulse electron-spin-echo sequence, (π/2) y -τ 1 -π y -τ 1 -(π/2) x - T -(π/2) x -τ 2 -π x -τ 2 , is introduced. The modulation amplitude obtained with this new scheme can be up to a factor of eight larger than in the corresponding three-pulse experiment. The signal contains no unmodulated part. Extensions with further improved modulation amplitude are discussed.
