CT/X-Ray Guided Techniques in Vertebral Tumors: Embolization

2017
The role of endovascular therapy in the treatment of vertebral tumors is mainly presurgical, aiming to a reduction of tumor vascularization (Choi and Berenstein, Radiol Clin North Am 26:1131–41, 1988). Even if a palliative approach, e.g., for the treatment of pain due to bone infiltration, might be accomplished, most of the times the task of the interventional neuroradiologist has to do with a close time surgical operation.
