Residues of milk fat in polypropylene tubing may be determined by a simple and rapid IR-spectrophotometric method. Polystyrene dissolved in the sample extract forms a film on KBr-tablets, which is used as support for the milk fat and as an internal standard for thickness of layer and concentration.
