Biomedical instrument and automation: automatic instrumentation in biomedical engineering

2020
Abstract Biomedical Engineering is a multidisciplinary field where clinicians and engineers work together for welfare of the society. Instrumentation, a sector in the field of Biomedical Engineering plays a critical role. Biomedical Instrumentation involves the design and development of the device for diagnosis and treatment of various abnormalities. Instrumentation also enables in progressing the existing equipment to function automatically which defines the nature of the abnormalities. Automation can be described as the control mechanism or system which assists the functioning of the instrument. Automatic instrumentation helps in the betterment of equipment's in many fields. Automation develops an instrument into a compact and user-friendly device for any kind of analysis or study. In biomedical instrumentation, automation is important for easy diagnosis and treatment of the dysfunctions in the human system. Development of fully automatic instruments in health care leads to a new era of instrumentation. Functional mechanism is systemically operated based on the automation process designed for the specific medical equipment. Biomedical engineers perform different researches related to the development of automatic techniques in the instruments used in health sector.
