Proportional-Based Distributed Wireless-Network Cross-Layer Scheduling Algorithm
2009
In this paper we propose a new scheduling algorithm called PDCS (Proportional-based Distributed wireless-network Cross-layer Scheduling Algorithm), which is based on the old proportional scheduling algorithm. The core of this algorithm is the concept of cross-layer design which means scheduling algorithm should consider not only the state of MAC layer but also that of physic layer, bringing a great improvement in the fairness of the network. In the end, several simulations are performed to prove the benefits of this algorithm. Since most of the researches on the mesh network focus on the coordinated mesh network and much less on the distributed one, this algorithm is, as far as we know, the first cross-layer scheduling algorithm for the distributed WiMAX network.
